The goal of the B.S. in Management is to prepare students for success in modern business organization and to advance their careers in management.

The program allows students to remain broad-based in their selection of courses. Four optional concentrations are available: General Management, Human Resource Management, Sports Management, and International Business. Graduates may seek entry-level positions in profit and non-profit organizations or the public sector as management trainees, assistant managers, customer service representatives, human resource generalists, executive sales representatives, sports management executives, account executives, or labor relations specialists. Graduates may also choose to work for a small or family-owned business or to become entrepreneurs.

Program Progression and Additional Graduation Requirements
Degree-seeking students are classified as pre-majors prior to formal transition into a Lutgert College of Business (LCOB) major. As pre-majors, students may enroll in lower division (1000-2999 level) courses to satisfy general education and common prerequisite requirements; lower level electives; and business common core courses, except GEB 4890, if course prerequisites are met. Pre-majors may not enroll in upper division (3000-4999 level) courses for the major.

Transition from a LCOB pre-major to a major happens following (a) completion of all common prerequisites with a minimum grade of C or higher in each course; and (b) completion of 50 earned credits with a minimum FGCU GPA of 2.0.

For timely degree completion, FTIC (First Time in College) students are expected to complete the following:
- MAC 1105 with minimum grade of B (or relevant accelerated credit or placement exam), ECO 2023 or ECO 2013 with minimum grade of C, one additional common prerequisite, and an overall 2.4 FGCU GPA within one calendar year from admission
- Four common prerequisites by the end of the third semester (excluding summer) from admission
- Seven common prerequisites and an overall 2.7 FGCU GPA by the end of the fourth semester (excluding summer) from admission
- MAN 3025 with minimum grade of C by the end of the fifth semester (excluding summer) from admission
- FIN 3403 with minimum grade of C by the end of the sixth semester (excluding summer) from admission

In addition to the program requirements, students must:
- Earn a grade of C or higher in the common prerequisites, business common core, required courses in the major, and restricted electives/concentration.
- Complete a minimum of 48 of the 120 credits at the upper division (3000-4999 level).
- Complete the last 30 credits of business courses at FGCU.
- Complete a minimum of 12 credits in the major at FGCU.
- Earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all coursework attempted at FGCU.
- Satisfy the College-Level Skills and foreign language entrance requirements.
- Satisfy the Service Learning requirement. See: https://www.fgcu.edu/studentlife/servicelearning/.
- Satisfy the Civic Literacy requirement.
- Complete the standardized business knowledge assessment exam administered during the last semester in GEB 4890 Business Strategy.

ETS Major Field Test in Business:

As a Lutgert College of Business senior enrolled in GEB 4890 (Business Strategy) this semester, you are required to participate in the ETS Major Field Test for Business. The exam contains 120 multiple-choice questions designed to measure a student's subject knowledge and the ability to apply facts, concepts, theories and analytical methods. Some questions are grouped in sets and based on diagrams, charts and data tables. The questions represent a wide range of difficulty and cover depth and breadth in assessing students' achievement levels.

For further information on the ETS Exam, please see ETS Major Field Tests (a description of the test, published by ETS).

The ETS Major Field Test is a graduation requirement. All potential graduation candidates must register online at https://www.registerblast.com/fgcu/Exam/List to complete the ETS Exam with the FGCU Testing and Assessment Office.

Chelsea is responsible for developing, communicating and executing on the strategic plan and growth of Moran Wealth Management. Prior to this role, she spent 8 years at the firm as a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for the fixed income and several equity strategies. She serves on both the Executive Committee and Investment Committee at Moran Wealth Management. Chelsea earned her BS in Finance from Florida Gulf Coast University. She was awarded the CFA Charter from the CFA Institute in 2014, and is a member of the CFA Society of Naples where she currently serves on the board. In 2021, Chelsea co-founded Southwest Florida Women in Investment Management to support the development and advancement of women in the local finance community. In addition to her responsibilities at Moran Wealth Management, Chelsea sits on the Executive Council for the Department of Economics and Finance at Florida Gulf Coast University and is the President of the House Corporation for the Pi Mu Chapter of Chi Omega. Lastly, she is a member of CHIEF, a private organization for women executive leaders. Chelsea loves to read, travel, and spend quality time with her family. The warnings are ominous and plentiful. For over half a century, we’ve been hit with a deluge of cautionary tales – from books to the big screen – teaching us to fear the unleashed power of artificial intelligence (or AI). Inevitably, in those stories, technology develops sentiency, plunging the world into a dystopian hellscape, leading to the end of human civilization. So why is Chrissann Ruehle, Lutgert College of Business instructor, eschewing pop culture to embrace the latest AI development? “I see this as a collaboration and connection between humans and machines, humans and technology, as well as being a benefit for our students and also for faculty,” she explained. For the past six years, Ruehle has researched the burgeoning field of AI and is working on publishing articles and papers on the subject. She describes one of the newest creations, ChatGPT, as a “generative artificial intelligence program that uses conversational artificial intelligence.”
