Center for Supply Chain Excellence

The Center for Supply Chain Excellence (CSCE) aims to develop and enhance effective leadership in the supply chain sector. The Center will achieve this by offering a rich mix of programs, forums, and courses that focus on the top issues facing supply chains and their constituent entities. To properly address these issues, supply chain leaders need certain skills and abilities that are common to all fields: foresight, self-management, communication of purpose, integration of diversity, systems thinking, etc. We teach those skills and abilities in our for-credit and executive education courses today and plan to do so in future supply chain offerings.

The Center of Supply Chain Excellence certificates, workshops, and programs train individuals to integrate and coordinate the management of supply chain activities. Through our programs and expert instructors, individuals learn how to develop consistent and dependable customer service levels, leading to better management of supply chain activities and related assets. Our offerings provide every member of the supply chain industry significant opportunities to improve corporate profitability and return on assets.

The Supply Chain Forum of SWFL will serve as a world class forum for exchange of current and future supply chain challenges and solutions which is self-sustaining and generates resources and ideas for further exploration in creating sufficient and effective supply chain. The forums focus on breakout sessions and presentations from both academics and practitioners in Supply Chain Management pertaining to today’s environment.

We disseminate results and insights through a variety of channels: affiliated organizations and sponsors through our Supply Chain Forum of SWFL, featuring prominent experts, executives, policymakers, and organizations. Assemble customized think tanks and dialogue platforms that bring together thought leaders and senior executives for an in-depth exploration of specific issues. Focused webinars will deal with specific topics.

The Supply Chain Management Program requires an internship as part of the degree program. Students will continue to intern in a wide range of companies in the SWFL area. The internship experience not only enhances their education but has attracted a growing number of recruiters to FGCU campus. The Center for Supply Chain Excellence is involved in facilitating internship opportunities in SCM and/or IT for students.
