Accelerated Collegiate Experience (ACE) Advising

• Dual Enrollment Program students cannot repeat courses until after high school graduation.
• Dual Enrollment Program students cannot use grade forgiveness until after high school graduation.
• Dual Enrollment Program students must meet specific semester and cumulative GPA requirements.
• Dual Enrollment students are not permitted to enroll in summer courses.
• Dual Enrollment Program students are not permitted to withdraw from classes after the add/drop period.

Students enrolled at Bonita Springs High School and Gateway High School will apply for the Collegiate Academy via their high school during their sophomore year. For additional information, please speak with your high school counselor.

Dual Enrollment Program students can take between 12-16 credit hours per semester while enrolled in the program. Students must take at least 12 credits of an academic core (of 3-4 credit courses) each fall and spring term to meet the enrollment requirements for high school.

Students in the Dual Enrollment Program typically focus on the General Education requirements, and courses that fulfill their remaining high school requirements.

Once admitted, students meet with an advisor in Exploratory Advising for an Dual Enrollment Program admissions meeting where they will review the Dual Enrollment Program and register for their first semester of courses.

Requirements for the fall semester:

Pre-Registration Meeting

The pre-registration meeting takes place once every semester. Students will be required to meet with their academic advisor to talk about their academic progress, discuss possible course options for their next semester at the university, and review the online course registration process.

Students will be required to meet with their academic advisor to talk about their academic progress, discuss possible course options for their next semester at the university, and to review the advising transition process (if they are high school seniors getting ready to graduate).

Students are able to attend any college that they have been accepted to. If a student decides they want to continue their education at FGCU they do not have to reapply, but there will be a process they need to follow from the ACE Program. They can find more information on the ACE Program website. 

Students in the Bonita Springs High School and Gateway High School Collegiate Academies that wish to complete their degree at FGCU will re-apply as an FTIC student during their senior year of high school. Additional information will be e-mailed to senior students early in the fall semester.

FGCU can only certify an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree to students who remain at FGCU after high school graduation.
