Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) is Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to Award Associate, Baccalaureate, Masters, Educational Specialist, and Doctoral Degrees.

Florida Gulf Coast University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. The Office of the Provost is responsible for ensuring both the quality of the university's academic programs and enhancing student learning through continuous improvement. 

In addition, the university strives to achieve specialized accreditation for all its eligible programs. Currently, the following programs/units have earned specialized accreditation from professional accrediting agencies (non-state government agencies):

Clinical Mental Health Counseling (M.A.) and School Counseling (M.A.) - Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) 

Master of Physician Assistant Studies (M.P.A.S.) - Master of Physician Assistant Studies (M.P.A.S.) - Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant has granted Accreditation-Continued status (ARC-PA).

Nursing M.S.N. - The master’s degree program in nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
