My experience at FGCU has provided opportunities to grow as a student, leader and individual.

Photo of Daryl CordovaDaryl Cordova originally chose social work as his major, then switched to political science. He chose both majors for the same fundamental reason: his drive and desire to help people for the rest of his life.

Now a junior, he is working at the State Capitol as an intern for Ray Rodrigues, the majority leader of the Florida House of Representatives.

He doesn’t believe he’d be where he is without the Honors College.

“The Honors College has assisted me by providing me with an on-campus community that was built both in and outside the classroom,” he says. “My experience at FGCU has provided opportunities to grow as a student, leader and individual. The skills I have learned will assist me beyond these four years.

Outside of the classroom, Daryl has been able to do service locally, regionally and abroad. He also had the opportunity to hold leadership positions in student organizations, Greek life and university departments.

“All of these experiences have provided me personal growth and have enhanced my confidence to provide my leadership for the enhancement of society,” he says.
