Prevention and Wellness Staff
Nikki’s hometown is Cape Coral, Florida. She received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 2008 and an M.A in School Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2012. Nikki has had a long history with Prevention and Wellness, starting as a Graduate Assistant and moving up to now serve as Director. Her favorite Prevention and Wellness initiative is the “Wellness Warrior” that helps educate students about the 8 dimensions of wellness. Her favorite part about working in Higher Education is connecting with students and engaging in meaningful discussions about wellbeing. Nikki is an adamant enthusiast of all things Disney, Legend of Zelda, and pirates. Her biggest fan is her 24 pound Maine Coon cat named Remy. She is the biggest fan of her two nieces, Charlotte and Savannah!
Brittany’s hometown is Mulberry, FL. She graduated from the University of West Florida in 2017 and 2019 with her B.A. in Psychology and Master of Public Health with a specialization in health promotion, education, and behavior. Brittany came to FGCU in 2020 to serve as the Peer Education Coordinator for Prevention and Wellness. Brittany comes to FGCU with six years of health education experience through her time working as a Peer Educator and Graduate Assistant for the University of West Florida’s Wellness department. Recently receiving her MPH degree and Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification, Brittany is excited to begin her journey at FGCU and grow in her experience. In her free time, Brittany loves to paint, spend time with her fur baby, and read new books!
Emily’s hometown is Lehigh Acres, Florida. She received a B.S. in Child and Youth Studies at Florida Gulf Coast University and is currently pursuing her M.A. in Educational Leadership with a concentration in higher education at FGCU. She has worked for our department since 2016 when she was a Peer Educator. Now, she is our Peer Education Assistant and Graduate Assistant. Her favorite Prevention and Wellness initiative is Wellness Coaching which is a free resource that takes a positive approach to personal development. Emily has a passion for mentoring and education. That is why her favorite part of higher education is being able to work with college students to prepare them for life beyond our university. One unique thing about Emily is her desire for adventure which can be attributed to the fact that her lineage spans over 40 regions in the world, including Indonesia, Ghana, and Scandinavia!
