Academic Affairs and the AI Task Force are proud to present the following Fall Generative AI Learning Series events, which have been updated to include virtual attendance options. New events and resources have also been added.

GenAI in Education Unleashed: Faculty Perspectives on Enhancing Student Learning with Alethea

FGCU has entered into a pilot with Pangea, the creators of Alethea, a Generative AI enhanced course materials engagement tool, designed to ensure students learn and apply the concepts from the materials in courses: textbook chapters, journal articles, handouts, etc.  The faculty, from multiple disciplines, who have integrated Alethea into their courses will provide an overview of how the platform is impacting student learning.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Academic Integrity at FGCU

Please join faculty, students, and representatives from CampUS Life and the Office of Student Conduct for an open discussion on Artificial Intelligence platforms and their impact in the classroom. Panelists will share their experiences with allegations of academic misconduct and discuss ways that we as a community can communicate more effectively about the use of Artificial Intelligence for teaching and learning.

Teaching & Learning with AI Conference Takeaways

FGCU Faculty and Staff who attended the Teaching & Learning with AI Conference at UCF will share their takeaways. The conference is the first national event where practitioners will discuss the use and potential impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on teaching and learning in higher education, specifically focusing on the use of AI in the classroom as experienced by faculty members.

Virtual Sessions with Dan Fitzpatrick, The AI Educator:

The author of the best-selling book, The AI Classroom: Teaching & Learning in the Artificial Intelligence Revolution, Dan Fitzpatrick, imparts invaluable insights and tactics for harnessing AI in education. His work has earned him esteemed accolades such as the Tech Champion Award at the Digital Industry Dynamite Awards in 2022, and recognition in the latest EdTech50 awards.  (theAIeducator.io)

Two different workshops will each be offered, “Keynote” and “Strategy Session for Leadership.”
