During this presentation, students will learn about the many resources we offer and the broad range of exploration and preparation services we provide. Understanding key CDS resources will help students to explore careers, build experience, connect with employers, and prepare for graduate school or the internship and job search.

In this presentation, students will understand the purpose and power of a resume and cover letter when searching for various experiences. Students will leave knowing the proper content, style and format for resume writing and cover letter development in addition to identifying strategies to strengthen each document.

This interactive version of our resume presentation is great for courses where a resume is a required assignment. Prior to us coming into the classroom, students should prepare a draft resume and bring it to class on the day of our visit. Members of our team will then visit the classroom to review the students' resumes in small groups. By participating in these small groups, students are able to hear a variety of different feedback on the pros and cons of different resume styles while getting advice on how to improve their own resume.

Students will learn interviewing techniques and strategies that will leave a lasting positive impression when interviewing for part-time, full-time, internship, volunteer, or extracurricular positions. An overview of interviewing formats, common questions, best practices, and how to avoid the dreaded salary question. This presentation can be paired with individual mock interviews to provide students a chance to put their skills to practice!
