Planning, Budgeting, Assessment, and Accountability Must Be Closely Integrated If Meaningful Improvement is to Occur.

Every organizational unit within the university produces an Annual Report tied to its goals and services. In the case of the  colleges, not only are Annual Plans and Reports developed to address unit-level goals, Assessment Plans and Reports are prepared to assess the program student learning outcomes for each academic program that leads to a degree.

Annual Unit Planning/Evaluation Reporting

Planning and Institutional Performance (PIP) and the Institutional Effectiveness and Accountability Council (IEAC) support every organizational unit to produce an annual planning/evaluation report including outcomes aligned with Strategic Plan.

  • The outcomes and achievements are reviewed by stakeholders within the organizational units. The intended outcomes, results, the report use of results, and documentation will be reported in HelioCampus annual planning software.  
  • The units that offer academic and student support services will have Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) as well as Administrative/Operational outcomes.  All other units will have Administrative/Operational outcomes. 
  • Each year’s annual results will inform the annual outcome setting for the following year.

Student Assessment

The office coordinates a systematic process of external  student and faculty surveys including participation in the the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), and Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Index (SSI) to gauge student involvement that is complemented by its own studies of such issues as  retention, climate, and residential life.

Assessment Plans and Annual Plans and Reports are gathered into our assessment and accreditation management system (Helio Campus) to allow easier accountability reporting to the Assessment Council, Institutional Effectiveness and Accountability Council (IEAC), our University Board of Trustees, and our regional and professional accrediting organizations.
