Why Have The Nesting Place?
Sensory rooms were initially used to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs). However research has shown that many people benefit from it's use. Multiple business settings from corporations, schools, and hospitals have adopted the use of sensory rooms in their workplace. Sensory Rooms offer a place for individuals to relax and feel welcomed within there community and offer a space for individuals who may feel overstimulated in there environment (Bell, 2019). The Nesting Place was developed to offer a place on the FGCU campus for our students, staff and faculty to come to relax and feel at piece in our Nest.
