Eagle Advantage

1. If you would like to take advantage of this unique opportunity, send an email to Dean Batchelder, the Associate Director of Admissions, at dbatchelder@fgcu.edu. Include your full name and University Identification Number (UIN). Seats are limited and the program will close when we reach capacity.
2. Once you confirm your participation, Dean Batchelder will provide you with the next steps to join FGCU. This will include paying your non-refundable $200 admission deposit.

1. Upon paying your Admissions Deposit, you will receive an email in your university email account about how to register for Eagle View Orientation (EVO). Please note it will take up to 24 hours after paying the deposit (or having it waived) to receive the email.
2. You must complete your two-day Orientation program prior to the start of the Summer B term (Monday, June 27), when Eagle Advantage will begin. 
3. There is a $35.00 fee to register for EVO, which is paid during the reservation process.
4. As an Eagle Advantage program participant, you will attend an information session about the program during EVO where you will meet faculty and staff facilitating the program and learn about program expectations.

1. You must upload documented proof of vaccine or lab immunity to Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, and German Measles (Rubella) to your Student Health Services Portal.
2.  Until you submit proper documentation, a HOLD will remain on your account that will prevent any course registration.

All applicants must declare their status as residents of the state of Florida by completing the online residency form and providing any required documentation. This is essential to ensure that you are charged the appropriate (in-state) tuition rate. A complete list of acceptable documentation is on the residency form.

1. This will ensure that you receive the financial support you need to attend FGCU. The FAFSA can be completed online through the Federal Student Aid Website.
2. You do not need to complete a FAFSA to receive the Eagle Advantage Scholarship, which covers your tuition and fees for the Summer B term (June 27 - August 6).
3. For more information about applying for Financial Aid, the Florida Bright Futures and Florida Prepaid programs, and applying for university scholarships, please visit the Financial Aid website.

1. On-Campus housing is available during the Summer, Fall, and Spring terms.
2. Students are not required to live on campus, but space is limited and demand for housing is high, so apply as soon as possible if you are interested.
3. You must submit a housing application/agreement and pay a $50.00 non-refundable application fee.

1. Watch for an email from Exploratory Advising about how to prepare for course registration for Summer and Fall terms.
2. This email will include a survey that will allow you to alert your academic advisor about any college credit you have earned, including Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge AICE, or Dual Enrollment credit earned in high school. 
3. Course registration for the Summer B term (June 27 – August 6) will be completed by your advisor prior to your orientation program and includes:
   1. SLS 1410: I Succeed: Thriving at FGCU (1-credit hour)
   2. A second course that fulfills requirements for your major (3-credit hours)
4. Your advisor will also register you for some of your Fall semester courses prior to orientation, and you will complete this process during EVO.

1. This will give you information about how to prepare for course selection and registration during orientation, introduce you to the course requirements for your major, and review the mandatory advising meetings you must attend in your first year. Review the Exploratory Advising website.
