Admission Criteria for Application Review

Completion of a minimum of 4 semesters of high school (student should not have completed sufficient units to qualify for high school graduation, and must apply all credits earned to meeting high school graduation requirements and University criteria for degree completion).
Be a full time resident of Collier, Charlotte, Glades, Hendry, or Lee county.
Demonstrated exceptional ability as substantiated by a recommendation from the high school counselor.
Completed ACE online application and associated forms by the published deadline.
Approval of parent or guardian.
Attendance at one (1) Public Information Meeting during the application cycle for which you are applying.
Approval of the Director, Early College Programs and the ACE Admission Review Committee.
Attain minimum high school GPAs and standardized test scores by the published application deadline:

*Per state statute, homeschool students are exempt from the GPA requirement. Contact the ACE Director if you have additional questions.

How to Apply

The 2023-2024 application and supplemental items are due by 11:59pm on March 31, 2023

Prior to completing the application steps below, a student should first:

Meet with their high school counselor to discuss eligibility
Attend an ACE Public Information Meeting (see dates below on calendar)
Note: the last opportunities to take the ACT or SAT for the 2023-2024 application cycle are March 11 (SAT) and April 15 (ACT). We recommend that you test early in case a re-take is needed prior to the application deadline.
- - Note about the April 15 ACT: official scores must be received by FGCU by May 3, 2023 in order to consider your application. Applicants relying on the April 15 test scores will be considered last in our admission process and it is possible that our available spots will fill prior to reviewing your application. Admission decision letters will be delayed for applicants taking the April ACT.

- Create your Future Eagle account by selecting the blue "Accelerated Collegiate Experience" button.
- Fill in the requested information.
- Be sure to indicate your "student type" as Accelerated Collegiate Experience.
- Your anticipated entry term is Fall 2023.
- Be sure to keep your password!
Step Two: Start an Application & Complete Essays

- Be sure to choose "ACE Application."
- Please note that there is not an application fee required for the ACE Program. If you are prompted to input payment information when submitting your application, you have selected the wrong application type. Refunds will not be issued if you complete the wrong application.
- Your high school status is "currently in high school or home school."
- Parent information is required for ACE student applications.
- Essay responses will be heavily weighted in the admission decision. Be sure to be thoughtful, creative, and write a minimum of 250 words for each essay question.
  - 2023-2024 Essay prompts:
    - Describe an activity, interest, experience, or achievement in your life that has been particularly meaningful to you.
    - Describe a situation where you overcame a challenge or obstacle. How did you personal strengths help you through the situation? What did you learn from the experience?
    - How do you envision your participation in the ACE Program contributing to your short and long term goals? How will your participation in the ACE Program at FGCU assist in your personal growth?
- Applications will not be processed if both conduct questions are not checked. Dishonest responses may jeopardize your ACE Admission status and/or future admission to FGCU. Checking "yes" does not necessarily disqualify an applicant from the ACE program.
- Save your application if you are not ready to complete it. You may stop and save as needed. Please only hit submit once you have completed the entire application, including supplemental form uploads.
- Submit your application when completed. Only one (1) application may be submitted.
Step Three: Submit Supplemental Forms

Beginning January 9, 2023 - Download, print, complete, and upload to your application account the following completed and signed forms:
- Program Authorization Form (high school counselor recommendation form)
- Third Party Authorization
- Memo of Understanding
- Personal Resume (create and upload on your own)
Be sure to scan/save each completed document as a PDF file prior to upload. Free smart phone applications can be utilized if you do not have access to a scanner. Please note that only one submission per document is permitted within your application account. Please make sure any multi-page documents are combined into one PDF prior to upload.

Step Four: Submit Official Test Scores and Transcripts

- Send official SAT and/or ACT scores to the FGCU Undergraduate Admissions Office. Applications will be canceled if official test scores and transcripts are not received within 45 days of application submission. FGCU school codes for sending electronic score reports: SAT (5221) or ACT (0733).
- Send official high school transcripts and other college transcripts to the FGCU Undergraduate Admissions Office.

Public Information Meetings

Public Information Meetings are open to prospective students and parents. When possible, current and former ACE students are present to provide their perspective. Attendance at one Public Information Meeting is required as part of the application process. RSVP is requested to help us anticipate attendance.
