University Advising Services (UAS) will offer academic advising appointments and drop-in services in-person, by phone or by video conference. The following outlines the variety of ways in which we provide our services to ensure access to advising for all undergraduate students:

Advising Appointments: All advising appointments need to have a scheduled appointment time. You can schedule an appointment using the online link at your advising areas website or by calling your advising area.

Drop-in Advising (first week of classes): For quick questions related to registration during the first week of classes. Visit your advising area website for drop-in advising days/times.

Email: Students may email their advising area for assistance with general advising-related questions.

Phone: Students may call the main phone line of their advising area for assistance with general advising-related questions.

Office Hours: For advising areas with a front office location, assistance with general advising-related questions is available Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM.

Fall 2020 in Adaptive Services: We are OPEN

Welcome to the Fall semester at Adaptive Services! Adaptive Services is now open!  While we will continue to offer virtual assistance, we are able to meet with students in person.  In order to adhere to the required protocal due to Covid 19, we have implemented procedures that will assist in maintaining the health and safety of our students and staff.  Below is information regarding our reopening procedures, and we encourage you to continue viewing our Canvas page for up to date announcements and information.

• Office Hours are 8am-5pm Monday thru Friday
• All meetings with case managers, tutors, and test proctoring are by appointment only. We are unable to take walk in requests at this time.
• When entering the office, please adhere to the signage indicating mask requirements, spacing and communicating with front desk and test proctor staff. We can allow up to three individuals in line at one time.  If you see three people in line, please wait in the building lobby, or outside, until your scheduled appointment.
• We will have limited items in the office for you to use, including pens, paper, and calculators. We encourage you to bring your own materials for working in the lab, taking exams, tutoring, and meeting with your case manager.
• All surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized after each use, including computers and tables, tutoring tables, and testing rooms.

This program includes a combination of online content and virtual live presentations. View a list of program dates. Admitted students receive more detailed information at their FGCU email. Orientation to Online Course Success

All students taking their first fully online synchronous or asynchronous course at FGCU are enrolled in FGCU’s Orientation to Online Course Success. This self-paced, fully online orientation has three main objectives:

• Help students identify their level of preparedness for their upcoming online course.
• Recognize common expectations instructors have of students in an online course.
• Review strategies, advice, and tips that are common for success in an online course.

This orientation is in Canvas. Students enrolled in their first fully online course at FGCU are automatically enrolled into the Orientation and are sent an email containing instructions on how to access the FGCU Orientation to Online Course Success.

During this time of virtual education methods, Student Health remains open to address all of your health and wellness needs.

TeleConsult Appointments (Via Phone):

Sick appointments will be scheduled for a TeleConsult with a Nurse Practitioner who will determine if you need to be seen in person, or can be given instructions over the phone. Other appointment types can also be scheduled via phone as requested by the student. Please call 239-590-7966 to setup an appointment.

In-Person Appointments:

Routine appointments can be scheduled in the office, and will take place Monday through Friday, 10:00am-2:00pm. Routine appointments include:

• Women’s health exams
• General Physical exams
• Medication Consults and refills
• Dermatology/Skin issues
• Minor injuries & Concussions
• Emergent Issues: chest pain & allergic reactions

Need a Medication Refill?

Call Student Health Services to speak to a clinical provider about your medication needs. Some medications can be refilled over the phone, while others may require an appointment.

Hours of Operation

In-person testing will take place Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4 PM.  For assistance on Fridays, please email testing@fgcu.edu or call 239-590-7955. To find out what date and time your program is offered visit our webpage.

College of Business Graduation Requirement Exam

The ETS’s Major Field Test is being administered remotely only. To take it remotely, students must contact Barbara Bucey in the Lutgert College of Business at bbucey@fgcu.edu , and we will ensure that their scores are recorded in Degree Works in time for graduation.

College of Education DOE exams

We have partnered with Pearson VUE to keep the administration of the Florida Department of Education exams available. These exams are scheduled through NES and they are administered on-campus. 

Credit by Examination Exams

We continue to offer CLEP and DSST exams to FGCU students who may use them to accrue credit-hours they can use towards graduation. For more information visit our webpage.

Math Placement Testing with Mobius

We continue to support Eagle View Orientation and University Advising by making available Math Placement Testing for FGCU First Time in College and Transfer students. For more information visit our webpage.

Test of Essential Academic Skills

The Test of Essential Academic Skills or TEAS is an admissions requirement for the FGCU Nursing BSN program. The TEAS can be taken from home now. For more information visit our webpage.

Civic Literacy Exam

The Florida Legislature passed a new law during the 2017 session that, beginning Fall 2018 and thereafter, requires all incoming Florida College System and State University System students to demonstrate civic literacy by the time they graduate. The Civic Literacy Exam, or CLE, is available for those students who need to comply with the new requirement.

• Contact libcirc@fgcu.edu to request scans of articles, book chapters, and textbook/course reserves.
• Request book chapters or articles beyond FGCU by completing an Interlibrary Loan request.  
• Contact libarchives@fgcu.edu to request archives research assistance or to book an appointment to access Archives and Special Collections materials.
