FGCU is shifting to remote operations on Monday, October 7. FGCU is closing campus to all activities, including all events and classes Tuesday, October 8 and Wednesday, October 9. Proctoring for Distance Learning

The office of Testing and Assessment at Florida Gulf Coast University offers proctoring services for students taking distance-learning courses with other universities and colleges.

 

Testing Information Request

Send an e-mail to the instructor or institution indicating that you have chosen to have your exam(s) proctored at Florida Gulf Coast University. Please cc: testing@fgcu.edu on this email.

Ask your instructor or institution to send a detailed e-mail to testing@fgcu.edu. The email from the instructor or institution must provide the following information:

  • Instructor name/contact information
  • Total time allowed for the exam
  • Exam window
  • Password (if applicable)
  • Materials allowed (scratch paper, calculator, etc.)

Please note that Testing & Assessment does not allow candidates to use a personal computer in the lab.

 

Proctoring Fee

The cost of taking a distance-learning exam will be based on the allotted time indicated by the issuing institution. You can create your testing appointment using Registerblast.

  • For exams 2 hours or less, the fee is $45.00.
  • For exams 3 hours or less, the fee is $55.00.
  • For exams 4 hours or less, the fee is $65.00.

Exams over 4 hours are subject to availability. Please email testing@fgcu.edu for details regarding fees and scheduling.

 

Exam Day Requirements

We recommend arriving at least fifteen minutes before your appointment time.

You must provide an acceptable and not-expired form of government-issued photo identification with signature, webcam photo, and e-signature verification before beginning an assessment. Read our Rules and Procedures.

Follow up with Testing & Assessment Services, and your institution to ensure that we have all the materials necessary no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled exam; you can do this by emailing or calling us. It is the candidate's responsibility to make sure all materials and information are sent prior to their exam date.

 

Disability-Related Accommodations

Indicate during registration that you are requesting ADA accommodations. Provide your full name and contact information. We will email you to confirm your request.

Accommodations for proctored exams are approved through the issuing institution. Please have this information sent over with your exam and accommodations will be made.

We will work with you, your institution, and our Adaptive Services office to ensure that your approved reasonable accommodations are met.

 

Important Information

If are unable to make your scheduled exam date or time, or wish to change a confirmed appointment, there is a $25.00 reschedule fee.

Please check with your institution to ensure that you are still within the allowed testing window for your exam.

Exam lengths greater than 4 hours are subject to availability.

Proctored exams must be scheduled no less than three days in advance. You will need a separate appointment for each exam you intend to take (for example, if you are planning to take 2 1-hour exams on the same day, you will need to book 2 separate appointments.

Tests are given in strict accordance with the instructions provided to us by the institution.
