Civic Literacy Exam	To schedule your in-person exam please visit our online scheduling site Registerblast. To schedule your exam remotely, please visit Registerblast and select the 'remote' option. Currently we are only offering remote option each Wednesday with time slots of either 10 am or 2 pm.	Reference Info

Enrolled in either AMH 2020, AMH 2010 or POS 2041	Students may the Civic Literacy Exam free for the first attempt while actively enrolled in the course for the current semester. Subsequent attempt(s) will require payment for the exam. Students may email Testing Services with your preference for either the remote option (Wednesday's only either at 10 am or 2 pm) or the in-person option which is offered Monday-Friday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. *Important information regarding the Civic Literacy Exam*

Students must achieve a score of a 60% or higher to be considered passing. The exam consists of 80 questions with a time limit of 2 hours and 40 mins. Should you need to take the exam again, you must wait (1) week from your last attempt to pay for the second attempt.
Once students are verified to take the exam remotely, students will be emailed instructions along with their username along with the instructions on how to download the Secure Browser. Approximately 20 mins prior to the start of your exam, you will be emailed with the Session ID.
It is highly recommended you use Windows system and not a MAC OS system (due to compatibility issues) to take the exam, a webcam is required. You must download the Secure Browser at least 3 days prior to your exam date, failure to do so could result in technical issues which will cause you to miss your exam.

We understand that sometimes you will not make it on time to your testing appointment. We will strive to accommodate you and in most cases a grace period of fifteen (15) minutes will be taken into consideration for your appointment.

However, we cannot guarantee that you will be admitted if you are late and you may need to reschedule your appointment. There might be additional fees involved depending on your test provider.

Registerblast Appointments

Registerblast adds a one-time ($7) surcharge to our proctoring fees for the first testing appointment booked online. Any subsequent appointment will not incur this fee for a whole calendar year! This fee is not refundable and to take advantage of it, booking under the same first name, last name and email address is required.

You will need to bring an acceptable and non-expired form of a government-issued photo identification with signature.

Some test providers or sponsors may require a secondary photo identification with signature, registration documentation or admission ticket.

Examples of acceptable forms of identification:
Driver’s license.

A valid passport (foreign passport is acceptable for international students).

Official state-issued identification card with photo.

Federal identification card.
Tribal identification card.

Naturalization card or Certificate of Citizenship.

Military identification card. Military candidates must additionally bring their military ID.
Examples of unacceptable identification:
Expired IDs from list above.

Identification with signature only.

School identification.

Temporary or paper driver’s license.

Social Security card.
Credit card with photo.

Work identification or badge.

- Cellular phones and electronic devices will be required to be turned off during check-in procedures. Airplane mode, or silent mode will result in disruptions of your exam with potential loss of exam time.
- Bring your ID(s), forms of payment and necessary documentation related to your exam.
- No food, water, liquids, backpacks, personal belongings or electronics of any kind allowed in the computer room.
- Only the candidate can be admitted into the office and computer lab. No family members, acquaintances, or guests may be present in the office premises or admitted into the computer lab.
- Unaccompanied minors will not be allowed in testing waiting areas as well as the testing lab during testing.
- You may have access to water, medication or items needed for medical reasons only. A staff member will advise you on how to do so.
- Depending on your exam sponsor, jackets, hoodies, or sweaters may not be permitted while testing. Our testing lab can be cold at times, please dress accordingly.

Testing Services supports the Mission and Guiding Principles of Florida Gulf Coast University through service to the students, faculty, staff and greater community.

Our office adheres to the National College Testing Association (NCTA) Professional Standards and Guidelines for Post-Secondary Test Centers, maintains membership in the Florida Association of College Test Administrators (FACTA), and participates in the Consortium of College Testing Centers (CCTC).
