FGCU Monkeypox Guidance
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention is tracking a national outbreak of monkeypox. While the risk of contracting monkeypox is generally low, cases are on the rise in the United States and across Florida. The purpose of this website is to provide up-to-date information about the illness as well as CDC and Florida Department of Health guidance on preventing and limiting the spread of monkeypox on campus.
What is monkeypox?
Monkeypox is a viral infection transmitted during prolonged, face-to-face contact or during intimate physical contact, such as kissing, cuddling or sex.
