Mangrove Review logoMangrove Review is a university sponsored, student-run literary journal featuring poetry, narratives (both fiction and creative non-fiction), and artwork. We accept submissions from students, alumni, FGCU faculty and staff, and the greater FGCU community.

Submission Guidelines:

Submissions must be previously unpublished. Each submission must be in a separate file (as noted below). 

Please do not put your name on the manuscript, artwork, or in the file name. Instead, include your name and contact information in the body of your email. Include a brief (three lines max) third-person biography in a separate file.

Poetry: Submit up to five poems per reading period, each in its own file. Include a title (centered), use Times New Roman 12 font, and double-space.

Prose: Submit up to four narratives per reading period, each in its own file, but no more than ten (10) total pages (3,000 words). Include a title (centered), and use Times New Roman 12 font, indented paragraphs (as applicable), and double-space with 1-inch margins.

Visual Arts:  Submit up to five (5) images per submission period. All artwork must be submitted as a high-resolution JPEG image, with the title of the artwork as the file name. Specify the art medium and size of piece in the file name or in the accompanying email. For photography, please include the location of the photo, in either the file name or in the accompanying email.

Open submission period: Submissions accepted September 1 through November 30; the journal is published annually in the spring.
