Dr. Upchurch publishes research in the area of corporate ethics, organizational commitment, environmental citizenship, tourism policy development, and consumer behavior. He is the author of the textbook Timeshare Resort Operations, published by Butterworth-Heinemann.

Prior to his academic career, Dr. Upchurch served in executive management positions for multinational lodging companies operating full-service hotels and resorts within the United States.
