CV/Resume

Roderick L. Rolle has been teaching Biology related courses since 1998, and with over twenty years of teaching experience, he is very well versed in the study of life. His career began when he decided to major in Biology and minor in chemistry at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). He subsequently earned his B.S. in Biology from FAMU in 1997 and quickly enrolled in the master’s degree program in Molecular and Cellular Biology.

Roderick was trained in the fundamentals of molecular analysis of molecules such as nucleic acids and proteins. With this training, he successfully defended his thesis, titled “Molecular Analysis of Heat Shock Protein Involvement with the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor” in 1999, and soon after graduated with his M.S. degree from FAMU in 2000. He then enrolled in a doctoral degree program in biological sciences at Tennessee State University (TSU).

While attending TSU, Roderick used his recently acquired molecular skills to fully characterize several gram-positive endospore forming bacteria. He successfully defended his dissertation, titled “Proteinaceous and genomic characterization of Bacillus thuringiensis isolates collected in the Tennessee geographical region” in 2004 and soon after graduated with his Ph.D. Roderick was then accepted into a Neuroscience postdoctoral program within the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at FAMU in 2005. While performing this fellowship, he was tasked to use his molecular skills to help address several neurological disorders. His specific topic of concern was titled, “Alterations in Cystatin C and lysosomal proteases following 6-ODHA exposure”. Dr. Roderick L. Rolle has extensive knowledge in the field of Biology and is well published.

Currently, Dr. Roderick L. Rolle is both a Board-Certified Clinical Lab Director for the state of Florida and a College Professor. Most recently, he was hired in 2016 to teach several different courses in the department of Biological Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University.
