Michael Walcher is a 41-year veteran of TV news. He worked as an anchor and reporter in Iowa, for the CBS-owned station in Minneapolis-St. Paul, and in Florida. He won several press association awards for excellence in reporting in Minnesota and Florida. Career highlights include covering national political conventions, reporting from Israel during the first Gulf War in 1991, covering Hurricane Andrew in Miami in 1992 and Hurricane Charley in southwest Florida in 2004. He began teaching journalism at FGCU in January, 2017.
