Dr. Colmer has over 34 years of experience in occupational therapy. She was the Academic
Fieldwork Coordinator in the Department of
Occupational Therapy program at Saint Francis University for 18 years where she initiated
and developed the fieldwork program. She also served as a Fieldwork Educator during three Level I mission trips in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic;
Mao, Dominican Republic; and Maggoty, Jamaica.
Dr. Colmer joined the occupational therapy faculty at Florida Gulf Coast University
in January of 2016. She is a Registered member of National Board of Certified Occupational Therapists
(NBCOT), and a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), Florida Occupational Therapy Association (FOTA), and Florida Occupational
Therapy Consortium (FLOTEC).

their Level I and Level II Fieldwork experiences. She teaches in her Industrial Rehab
areas of expertise in the evaluation and intervention courses.
She also team teaches with Physical Therapy in an Assisted Living Facility preparing
students to work with clients in the field from an OT perspective.
