Dr. Frederick graduated with her Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology with a focus in immunology in 2004 from Clemson University and went on to complete her first post doc at the National Institute of Health in toll like receptor signaling and septic shock. She then went on to complete a second post doc at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL focusing on non-small cell lung cancer. She has taught Genetics and Immunology at Wofford College in South Carolina. then spend the next 11 years as an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Arlington teaching Molecular and Cell Biology, Genetics, Infectious Diseases, Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology. She moved to Naples in 2019 and taught Genetics and Microbiology at Hodges University and then moved forward to teach General Biology 1 here at FGCU in the fall 2021 semester. Currently Dr. Frederick is a visiting professor in the Biology Department teaching Cell Biology and Genetics since the spring of 2022.
