Sustainable Development

Jacqueline's research focuses on sustainable development with an emphasis on participatory action research. Past projects have explored the role of tourism for development; utilizing tourism as a technique to promote sustainable social improvements. She is particularly interested in highlighting social sustainability as a motivation for community participation with small-scale tourism development. Alongside this, she is interested in how people and places are represented through digital technologies, particularly video games. She is committed to experiential learning and civic engagement as part of the educational process. She incorporates a global perspective throughout her teaching and encourages student engagement with international learning and study abroad.
