Loscuito, John (MFA, MBA)
John Loscuito is the FGCU Art Gallery Director, overseeing the Wasmer Art Gallery in the Arts Complex, the ArtLab Research Center in the Wilson G. Bradshaw Library, as well as additional project spaces across the FGCU campus. Loscuito teaches Professional Practices, a junior level course for Art Majors, preparing Art Majors for a career in the arts after graduation. Loscuito has an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an MBA from Marquette University. Prior to coming to FGCU, he taught a variety of studio courses at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. He was the Registrar at the Haggerty Museum of Art for seven years as well as an independent curator and producer of art events.
Current accomplishments include building a Permanent Collection numbering over 2,500 pieces of primarily contemporary artworks, establishing an endowed fund for the Art Galleries, securing ten years of continued grant funding, launching an outdoor mural and sculpture park on the FGCU campus and expanding the scope of the Art Galleries for the university and region.
