Paull, Danielle (MS)
Danielle is the only Research Laboratory Technician III, Mass Spectrometry for The
Water School and at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) where she maintains, develops
methodology, runs various samples, and processes data using Chromeleon software on
Thermo Fisher's gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (LC) triple quadrupole
mass spectrometers (MS/MS). Current and future research goals include Brevetoxin (Red
tide toxins), ciguatoxins, Microcystin, PAHs, Pesticides, PFAS or “Forever Chemicals”,
and PCBs.
In September 2022, she transferred to the Water School after working five years in
the Department of Chemistry and Physics as their Academic Laboratory Coordinator.
Prior to beginning her career at FGCU, she had various experiences in the laboratory,
in industry, and working in various aquariums, including Mote Marine Laboratory where
she brought valuable experiences and resources from her research on Brevetoxin in
their Ecotoxicology Department.
Danielle completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Tampa, which
is a dual degree in biology and marine Science and added a minor in environmental
science. Recently, Danielle graduated from FGCU with her Master of Science degree
in Engineering focusing on environmental sciences and bioremediation.
The GC & LC -MS/MS are in The Water School’s shared Instrumentation Laboratory, room 413. Danielle invites anyone to schedule time to see the instruments and discuss their future goals and expertise.
