Cara Ryan is currently a Coordinator in Academic & Curriculum Support. She has held previous roles as a Financial Aid Advisor and Academic Advisor in Marieb College of Health and Human Services at Florida Gulf Coast University. Prior to landing at FGCU in 2016, Cara worked in the offices of Graduate Admissions and Continuing Education at both St. Joseph's University, Long Island and Stony Brook University.

Cara is an active member of NACADA on both the regional and national levels with a focus in Advising Administration and Social Justice & Diversity. She is most proud of her continued participation in and renewal of the Florida Gulf Coast University Diversity & Inclusion Certificate Program.

Prior to pursuing a career in higher education, Cara worked in arts administration/nonprofit management and managed afterschool and in-school STEAM enrichment programs in NYC Public Schools. She developed assessment polices, teaching-artist trainings, and wrote grants to support these programs. She holds certifications in holistic health coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrion (IIN) and is a certified yoga instructor (RYT 200 hours).
