Ruehle, Chrissann (DBA)
Dr. Chrissann R. Ruehle is a Management Instructor in the Management Department at Lutgert College of Business. Prior to her appointment at FGCU in 2017, she taught for seven years at Sinclair College and the University of Dayton in Ohio.
Her doctoral dissertation titled, "Understanding the Complex Ethical Landscape of Artificial Intelligence Adoptions" explores forces shaping the Artificial Intelligence(AI) Industry, a case study of a firm that developed a proprietary AI system to bolster the firm's expansion, and a grounded theory study on AI adoption comprised of technology expert interviews. Her AI Industry Analysis was published in the Muma Business Review. Her AI case study was presented at the North American Case Research Association's Annual Meeting and awarded "Best Student Authored Case Study". Her grounded theory study and innovative Ethical AI Adoption Framework led to keynote and invited speaker presentations with Casugol & Taylors University's "Future Tech: Women in Technology" conference in Singapore, and the University of South Florida's Practitioner-Scholar Conference. Her research focuses on the interactions between humans and AI, governance practices for AI adoption, and Ethical Leadership approaches for managing AI.
Dr. Ruehle completed the IBM Artificial Intelligence Practitioner-Instructor Certification through the IBM SkillsBuild. She will be facilitating FGCU's first Artificial Intelligence certification course during the Fall 2021.
She holds a D.B.A. from the University of South Florida, an M.B.A. in Applied Management from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a B.S. in Business, Marketing Concentration, from Miami University of Ohio.
