Calli Johnson Profile

Calli is the Dive Safety Officer and Instructor of Scientific Diving (BSC4473C). As the DSO, she is responsible for safe conduct of research dive operations as designated by the Dive Control Board. She is directly responsible for the diving standards set forth by the American Academy of Underwater Sciences and upheld by FGCU as an organizational member. Her Scientific Diving course offered fall and spring trains scuba divers to become AAUS authorized science divers. This course reiterates basic scuba safety standards and then teaches skills required to interact with and document the underwater world. Calli also works as a science diver for the university, mostly with Dr. Michael Parsons lab.
