Dr. Brigitte Belanger is an Assistant Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University. Dr. Belanger earned her doctorate from Baylor University in 2011 while on active duty at the San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). Dr. Belanger joined the FGCU faculty in 2016 and initiated research to draw awareness to veterans' issues in higher education. She founded the Veterans Support Committee in 2016 and continues to work on advocacy issues. Dr. Belanger is certified in Animal Assisted Therapy and has created courses to help train therapists in the use of animals for therapy.
