Badir, Ashraf (Ph.D., PE)
Dr. Ashraf Badir joined FGCU as an Associate Professor, Department of Environmental and Civil Engineering in August 2008. Prior to his arrival at FGCU, Dr. Badir was an Associate Professor at Clark Atlanta University and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech) School of Aerospace Engineering. His areas of expertise include engineering education, structural analysis of advanced composite materials, steel and concrete structures. He has conducted analytical and experimental research with USARO, Boeing, NASA Langley and NASA Glenn Research Centers and received the Jefferson Goblet Award for his theory of anisotropic beams with hygrothermal effects.
