Shuttles

This is where the shuttles have their primary drop off and pick up locations. Shuttles run between Housing and the Student Plaza. There are multiple accessible shuttles that provide for wheelchair and scooter transportation.

Office of Student Involvement

The key to getting the most out of your college years is getting involved and the Office of Student Involvement has more than 200 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) that guarantees there’s something for everyone to do. Student Involvement is located on the second floor of the Cohen Center Student Union and there is an elevator. Gathering spaces have accessible furniture and assistive technology is available. There are also visual and audible emergency alarms. The building also has an area of rescue assistance in the event of a fire or other emergency.

Multicultural Leadership Development Center

Multicultural Leadership Development Center cultivates a campus-wide community that celebrates diversity, empowers students to grow beyond their personal barriers, strengthens their understanding of diversity and social responsibility, and develops leadership skills. The office is located on the second floor of the Cohen Center Student Union and there is an elevator. Gathering spaces have accessible furniture and assistive technology is available. There are also visual and audible emergency alarms, and areas of rescue assistance in the event of a fire or other emergency.

Bookstore

The FGCU Bookstore has all of the merchandise you need to maintain the FGCU Spirit, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, athletic wear, hats, jewelry, etc. It is also the place to go to get all of your textbooks for classes, as well as study aides, planners, pens/pencils, and much more! The bookstore has accessible entrances and accessible parking is available in front of the store. The bookstore also has wider aisles to allow for wheelchairs to easily pass through, lowered check out stations, and friendly staff to assist when needed.

Food Court

Inside the Cohen Center Student Union is the Food Court, which houses multiple dining options, including Einstein’s Bagels, Papa John’s pizza, Chik Fil A, Jamba Juice and Brahma Express. Accessible seating is available at all locations, and assistance is available for carrying food to desired eating location.

Enrollment Services Center

Enrollment Services Center provides information on financial aid and scholarships, as well as information on transcripts, course catalogs, academic calendar and other registration information. The office does have an accessible entrance and accessible areas for logging on to computers and other available services.

Eagle View Orientation

Financial Aid and Scholarships and Registration and Records are part of the Enrollment Services Center and are housed in McTarnaghan Hall. These offices provide information on financial aid and scholarships, as well as information on transcripts, course catalogs, academic calendar and other registration information. The office does have an accessible entrance and accessible areas for logging on to computers and other available services.

TRIO and Outreach Programs

The TRIO and Outreach Programs provide opportunities for students to advance their academic and personal growth, gain financial responsibility, explore careers and understand college requirements. These activities motivate students toward successfully completing their education. Participants must meet eligibility requirements to qualify for these programs, which are very competitive and have limited openings each year. The Office of TRIO and Outreach Programs is in McTarnaghan Hall, Room 202. An elevator is available and the computer lab and other meeting locations have wider aisles and accessible furniture. The office also has visual and auditory emergency alarms.

Testing and Assessment

The Testing and Assessment office provides testing for campus and community partners, including CLEP tests, placement tests and teacher certification exams. You can check out their website for a complete list of available of exams and process for registration of exams. Testing and Assessment is located on the 2nd floor of the building and there is an elevator, accessible testing stations, and visual and auditory emergency alarms.

Admissions

Admissions is part of the Enrollment Services Center and is housed in Howard Hall. You can find information on your admission application and other admission specific information. Some admission functions are on the first floor and do have an accessible entrance and accessible reception area. Other admission functions can be found on the 2nd floor and there is an elevator.

Marketplace

The Marketplace in Howard Hall has multiple food options, including Boar’s Head sandwiches and grab and go food, such as salads, sandwiches and snacks. The Marketplace is found on the first floor of the building and there is an accessible entrance, as well as accessible eating locations.

Career and Exploratory Advising Services

The Career and Exploratory Advising Services provides academic advising for first year students, as well as programming and resources for career related needs, such as building resumes, workshops, and other career related events. The building does have an accessible entrance and accessibility is available on an as needed basis when working with office staff.

Library Lawn

This location is where many events on campus take place. The lawn has 4 grass sections that provide for tabling and everyday use. All grass sections are bordered with accessible walkways and connects to the Student Plaza, the Cohen Center Student Union, the Wilson G. Bradshaw Library, and the Academic Core. The Library Lawn also has the Veteran Pavilion, which provides for speaking engagements and presentations, and the stage is equipped with ramps for easy access.

Wilson G. Bradshaw Library

The Wilson G. Bradshaw Library is named after FGCU’s 3rd President, and is the main library on campus. In addition to the variety of books and publications, it also houses study spaces, computer labs, and classrooms. Starbucks is also available in the Library. The Library has multiple accessible entrances and all study spaces, computer labs and classrooms are accessible.

Center for Academic Achievement (CAA)

The CAA offers free services to help all FGCU students maximize their academic potential. Take advantage of free academic coaching, tutoring, supplemental instruction and writing consultations. All services are housed in Library West, with main office being on the first floor and writing and tutoring services being offered on the second floor. The main entrance has an electronic sliding door, and the building also has an elevator. Consultations can be provided in a one-on-one format and tables and chairs are accessible. Academic Corridor

The Academic Corridor is where most classrooms and faculty offices can be found. The following buildings are on the left of the Academic Corridor when coming from the Cohen Center Student Union: Reed Hall, Whitaker Hall, Seidler Hall, Holmes Hall, and Lutgert Hall. The following buildings are on the right of the Academic Corridor when coming from the Cohen Center Student Union: Griffin Hall, Merwin Hall, Edwards Hall, Marieb Hall.

All of the buildings in the Academic Corridor features accessible entrances, elevators, visual and sound alarms, and building signs in braille, which can be found to the right of the main entrance of the building.

Helpdesk

Located inside of Ben Hill Griffin Hall on the 2nd floor.

The Helpdesk is the main computer information hub for students and employees, and is part of the department of Information Technology Services. The Helpdesk is located on the second floor of the building and can assist with email and other computer concerns. There is an elevator within the building. Their website also has an extensive amount of information on such things as compatibility of systems and password resets.

Adaptive Services

Accommodations and services for individuals with disabilities are found in Adaptive Services. You can schedule individualized meetings with a case manager and they work directly with you and the campus community to ensure that your accommodations are provided. The office is located on the first floor and the main entrance has an electronic sliding door. Restrooms include an accessible stall and one restroom for individual use that has all required accessible features. The office also has visual and audible emergency alarms. The building also has an elevator.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

CAPS provides individual mental health counseling, as well as group therapy to assist students in maintaining a healthy and successful road to achieving their academic and social goals. CAPS is located on the third floor of the building and there is an elevator in order to access the office. CAPS also has restrooms, which include accessible stalls and one restroom for individual use that has all required accessible features. The office also has visual and audible emergency alarms.

Student Health Services

Student Health Services in located in a modular building in Parking Lot 7 and assists students when they are sick, educates them on healthy lifestyle choices and protects them through vaccination, education and accessibility. Student Health Services is also the location where required immunization records are collected. The Student Health modular does have an accessible entrance, as well as accessible restrooms and exam rooms.

FGCU Food Pantry

The Campus Food Pantry supports students with food insecurity by providing a variety of food options that are donated by the FGCU and surrounding community. The food pantry is located with the Music Modular and there is an accessible entrance. The Food Pantry itself has accessible walkways and assistance is available if needed when securing food.
