Degree Completion for Non-Traditional Students

Looking to earn an undergraduate degree from FGCU?

Non-traditional students frequently have different needs and barriers than traditional students. The Innovative Education and Partnerships Department offers the below services and programs to ensure FGCU students at any stage of life can pursue higher education.

There are several different types of non-traditional students.

Does this sound like you? A non-traditional student…

  • may work full time (35 hours or more per week) while enrolled
  • attends courses part time for part of each academic year
  • served time in the military
  • returns to college after a prolonged absence
  • has dependents, including children or elderly relatives, or may be a single parent
  • seeks to attend courses outside regular business hours
  • delayed enrollment into postsecondary education
  • has established financial independence from parents
