Accreditation

SACSCOC StampFlorida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees.

However, inquiries concerning FGCU with regard to admission requirements, financial aid, educational programs, etc., should be addressed to FGCU directly and not to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The Commission should be contacted only in the instance there is evidence of significant non-compliance with a SACSCOC requirement or standard.

The Office of the Provost is responsible for ensuring both the quality of the university's academic programs and enhancing student learning through continuous improvement. 

In addition, the university strives to achieve specialized accreditation for all its eligible programs. Currently, the following programs/units have earned specialized accreditation from professional accrediting agencies (non-state government agencies):

Doctor of Physical Therapy - Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) 

Clinical Mental Health Counseling (M.A.) and School Counseling (M.A.) - Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) 

Master of Physician Assistant Studies (M.P.A.S.) - Master of Physician Assistant Studies (M.P.A.S.) - Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant has granted Accreditation-Continued status (ARC-PA).

Nursing B.S.N. - The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). 

Nursing M.S.N. - The master’s degree program in nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). 

Nursing D.N.P. - The Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Florida Gulf Coast University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
